Charles Bridge in Prague, Czech Republic - unusual angle from riverCharles Bridge, Prague, Czech Republic

I am very excited about getting an honorable mention in the Advanced - Digital category at the October monthly Northern Virginia Photographic Society (NVPS) competition. The competition's theme was "Bridges".

The NVPS is a great club for anyone with a passion for photography and the monthly photography competitions are open to all members!

Here is the technical information for the shot:

  • Shooting Mode: Aperture Priority
  • Aperture / F-Stop: 9.0
  • Shutter Speed / Exposure Time: 2.0 seconds
  • ISO: 640
  • Focal Length: 78 mm

Since I was quite far away from the subject, I was able to choose a medium aperture value and keep everything sharp. I wanted to maintain some of the texture of the water so I increased the ISO so that I could decrease the length of exposure to 2 seconds... If I wanted the water to be more smooth, I would have decreased the ISO and increased the length of exposure...

Please let me know if you have any questions!
